Clayton T. Evans (born October 28, 1953) is a Canadian former competition swimmer and Olympic silver medalist. Evans represented Canada at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, Evans competed in the qualifying heats of the men's 100-metre backstroke and the men's 200-metre individual medley, but did not advance.〔Sports-Reference.com, Olympic Sports, Athletes, ( Clay Evans ). Retrieved July 30, 2014.〕 After the 1972 Olympics, Evans attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he swam for the UCLA Bruins swimming team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Pacific-10 Conference competition from 1973 to 1976. Individually, Evans also competed in the men's 100-metre butterfly, finishing sixth in the event final with a time of 55.81 seconds.〔 After the 1976 Olympics, Evans continued to train in the hope of competing at the 1980 Summer Olympics.
